Fixing/updating the server will not happen within a matter of days. It takes time. There are currently only 2 people running the server, after all (that's not a lot of people for a big plan like this). He already did fix Skyblock Islands, /hub, make a discord server to discuss what WE want to see in the new Dancraft, and maybe even more that I just don't know about. You can't just get rid of hackers in a few days either. They need to re-think the anticheat, as well as a more efficient report/ban strategy in order to get rid of hackers. That takes time. Dan made it pretty clear that he want's to make things right. By what it looks like, they're making progress, but slow progress. Until we see this progress come to a complete stop and stay that way, there's no need to start ringing any bells and panicking and calling Dan out.

Think of it this way: If he hadn't made this "return", none of us would be posting anything on here regarding how poorly he took care of the server, would we? This is Dan's time to make up to us. He gave us information on what he plans to do... Let's see if he does that. If he doesn't, then we can bash all we want.

If he does care for the server a whole lot, he would hire someone (like a credible Minecraft server builder) to help him out and finish everything within 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks tops. But since his budget or funds are probably not that high, I believe that it's going to take a little longer than we want :/
